About the products in this kit

Salt Wash (33.8oz)

Specially formulated to break down and remove salt, dirt, and grime from your boat, PWC, and trailer. Protects surfaces from corrosion and keeps your vessel looking its best after every trip.

Engine Flush (33.8oz)

Designed to flush salt, debris, and mineral build-up from your boat or PWC’s cooling system. Helps prevent corrosion and keeps your engine running smoothly, trip after trip.

Captain’s Musket Foam & Flush Gun

A versatile, easy-to-use foam and flush gun that connects to any standard garden hose. Delivers thick foaming coverage for washing and easily switches to flush mode for your engine — making maintenance simple and effective.

How to use it

Salt Wash Application:

  • Preparation: Ensure the boat's exterior is cool to the touch and not in direct sunlight.
  • Using the Captain’s Musket:
  • Attach the Captain’s Musket to your garden hose.
  • Fill the Musket’s reservoir with Salt Wash.
  • Spray the solution evenly over the boat’s exterior, starting from the top and working your way down.
  • Allow the solution to sit briefly to break down salt and grime.
  • Rinse thoroughly with fresh water, ensuring all residue is removed.

Outboard Engine Flush Application:

  • Preparation: Ensure your outboard engine is in a vertical position and the engine is cool.
  • Using the Captain’s Musket:
  • Fill the Captain’s Musket reservoir with the Engine Flush solution.
  • Attach the Captain’s Musket to the flushing port on the outboard engine (located near the lower unit) or use muffs if your engine has them.
  • Turn on the water source by moving the Captain’s Musket crank handle to the middle setting (water only) before starting the engine.
  • Start the engine and let it idle.
  • Switch the Captain’s Musket crank handle to forward to activate the flush solution. Do not rev the engine during this process.
  • Follow your manufacturer's recommended flush time and allow the engine to run for 5-10 minutes to fully flush out salt, dirt, and other debris.
  • Turn off the engine before turning off the water.
  • Disconnect the Musket and inspect the engine for water droplets or salt deposits. For added protection, wipe it down with a clean cloth.
  1. Personal Watercraft (PWC) Flush Application:
  • Preparation: Ensure your PWC is on a trailer or lift with the engine turned off.
  • Using the Captain’s Musket:
  • Fill the foam gun’s reservoir with the Engine Flush solution.
  • Locate the flush port on your PWC (usually found at the rear or side of the craft).
  • Attach the garden hose securely to the flush port.
  • Start the PWC engine before turning on the water source.
  • Move the Captain’s Musket crank handle forward to the soap mix setting, allowing the flush solution to circulate through the cooling system for 2-3 minutes. Do not exceed this time, as PWC engines should not run for extended periods without being in the water (check your manufacturer’s recommended flush times).
  • Turn off the water first before turning off the PWC engine.
  • Detach the hose and flush the kit, draining excess water from the cooling system.
  • Wipe down the exterior of the PWC with a clean towel to remove any remaining water spots or salt residue.

    Salt wash down

I own 3 boats and often just wash them down with fresh water, however noting that there are still salt crystals evident along the edges of the stainless and clears, now I use the red salt wash with the foaming attachment and the boat not only has no salt build up , it also shines!
